An Analogy

Teacher: Bring me some fruit.
Student: What kind of fruit would you like?
Teacher: Oh you know like apples and strawberries
Student: Goes home to do assignment… Refers to the syllabus that says: “Bring teacher fruit” …Ok I can do that!... Student spends a lot of time and effort getting the perfect banana and brings it to class.
Teacher: Ok!….This is a really nice piece of fruit… You get a C+!
Student: I got a C+…. Wait…What?!...Why?!
Teacher: Because its not red…
Student: Wait…. you NEVER said you wanted RED fruit!!! You only said FRUIT!!!!
Teacher: In class I believe that we named red fruits…like strawberries and apples.
Student: ok, but I even looked at the syllabus! It only says fruit! It says nothing about the color red!
Teacher: Oh… well we wrote that months ago, back then we didn’t know what color it would be…so its changed now. BUT!!!... You can re-do the assignment! Bring me a piece of Red fruit.
Student: ok, Red fruit… I can do that
Student: Spends a lot of time, effort and money to get teacher the best red pomegranate that she can find, and brings it to Teacher.
Teacher: Very nice you get a B
Student: But… I did what you wanted.
Teacher: It was totally adequate, but not exceptional…
Student: I did EXACTLY what you asked me to do! How is that not exceptional?!?!

SOMETHINGS GOTTA GIVE!!!!
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET AN A ?!?!?

….Can you tell that I am just a little bit frustrated?!
