my mom taught me

This post is dedicated to one of the people that I love most in my life!
She is smart and beautiful, talented and fun, she has taught me many important lessons in my life and I continue to learn from her every day - MY MOM!

my mom taught me kindness-
My mom is most likely the nicest person that you will ever meet in your life- she is always there for anyone who needs her.  She really goes out of her way for a lot of people-especially for her children.

my mom taught me how to sew-
My mom is incredibly talented, she is an exceptionally good seamstress! She can fix and mend and make anything.  the skirts that I love the most and get the most compliments on are the ones that my mother has made.  She also made my prom dress in 3 days and it was perfect, exactly how I wanted (and I can be pretty picky).

my mom taught me how to sing
When I was little I would sit next to my mom in church and I would listen to her singing the hymns and I loved how she sounded, I said to myself, "I want to sing like my mom." It is because of my mom that I love singing and music!

my mom taught me love-
I am so grateful for my moms example of love unfeigned.  She shows love to all around her.

my mom taught me friendship-
My mom is a good friend! She has always been a good friend to me and I am grateful that she has always been one of my best friends even when I was dumb in the past and would push her away.  True friends are the kind that stick around and are there for you even when things are no fun.  She comes around and helps me all the time!

my mom taught me responsibility-
Of course through teaching me to clean and such when I was younger (which I am so grateful for now) my mom helped me learn to make my own choices and to choose the right choices. Sometimes I would (even still) go to her with a decision to make and she encourages me in a loving way and lets me know that it is my choice to make - she helps me to be more responsible and independent.

my mom taught me fun
My mom knows how to have a good time, joke, talk, laugh. She is fun to be around and we have a good time.

my mom taught me patience-
My mom puts up with a lot, I am grateful for her example of patience.

my mom taught me how to cook
My mom is a great cook! yum! I am grateful that she taught me how to cook! I loved it when we would get to choose what to make for dinner and she would help us make it!

my mom taught me positivity-
My mom is optimistic and fun. She keeps a good attitude and is happy.

my mom taught me how to fix stuff
My mom grew up on a farm, she is a fix it girl. If she can't fix it, she learns how and does it, she is really handy.

my mom taught me importance of family -
My mom does everything for her family! she is amazing! I hope I can be the kind of mom that she is to me for my children someday.

my mom taught me love of learning-
HA- I HATED school when I was younger.  well... mostly I hated homework. My mom used to sit with me for hours to help me and make sure that I got my homework done. Last semester she even took a sign language class at BYU!

my mom taught me the gospel
Quite possibly the thing that I am most grateful for in my life is my knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  My testimony means more to me than anything else in my life and my mom gave me that knowledge by bringing me up in the church, teaching me to pray, and read the scriptures, and teaching me that I have a Savior in Jesus Christ and that I am a child of God.

Thank you mom for all that you have taught me- which includes more than the few that I have said and more than I could ever write.
I LOVE YOU!!!   HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!
