This morning we got up and walked over to the institute building for our Shakespeare final. And we were locked out, ha! Of the building! Our professor was locked out too. We decided that that should mean it was canceled and that we could all go home – but that wasn’t the case.
this is us standing around waiting to get in
After stand around and waiting and Professor Larsen attempting to get a hold of Professor Fielding (who had a key) He eventually went over to the building next door where the mission president used to live- well it turns out that he still live there – so he came over and let us in, and we finally got to start our final 40 or so minutes late.
I finished the final- which wasn’t too bad after all. And I was free! Man! So nice to not have to worry about papers and tests etc. I went with a couple of girls to go and see a matinee of the Lion King. It was absolutely rediculious getting over to the theatre with the Tube Strike going on. All of the busses were packed! We stood at the bus stop for a long time and watched many busses pass us by – they were so full they weren’t letting more people on. Plus traffic on top of that was awful! We decided that we were never going to get there at this rate- so we caught a taxi- which wasn’t very easy to do today either.
Lion King was a great show! I really enjoyed the production – the only problem was the audience drove me crazy! There were a lot of school groups there today and I felt a little bit like I was at some kind of pre-teen concert for miley cirus or something – cuase the children were screaming and clapping and I couldn’t hear the actors singing during parts. Then they clapped! Along to the music! During EVERY song! It was awful!! I mean yeah sure go ahead get into it during the up beat fun songs like akunna-matta – right…well it turns out that they clapped during EVERY song! Yeah! Even during “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” which is the romantic song in the show- they tried to clap! Sheesh! I wasn’t very happy! (not to mention most of the time when they were clapping they were totally off beat!)
After the show I went home and got something to eat and got a hold of George- he is having a hard time even getting into London from where he lives in Stratford because of the tube strike – there are very few lines running on the tube and the ones that are are very delayed. So after having quite a time of going from bus to tube and waiting for long periods of time I finally got to meet up with George at Westminster .
There is a little park behind where the Cabinet War Rooms are that I noticed the other day and we were close to there so we went to the park and walked around and were able to talk for a while, and be together before he had to go to work.
We were in the park for a while – George brought some pictures from his mission to show me – and told me some stories and etc. that was fun. I took this picture of Big Ben on our walk-and we found George's street! haha
We then went for a walk and went to McDonalds so he could get something to eat. We then walked around Lester square and then up to Piccadilly Circus just walking around holding hands – it started to sprinkle rain just a little but it wan't bad.
We had some time cause he called and had to work there in that area so we just spent as much time together as we could til he had to go to the station. I took the bus home
